About the Role
This role designs precision rotating electromechanical equipment (slip rings) for space and defense applications, working on-site in Blacksburg, VA, from concept through production support.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish design concepts and requirements across mechanical, thermal, and electrical disciplines for slip ring assemblies.
- Interface with suppliers and customers on technical aspects of projects.
- Carry designs from proposal through detailed design, production drawings, and build support.
- Support internal research and development efforts to expand existing technology.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aeronautical engineering.
- 5 years of experience designing and analyzing precision rotating electromechanical equipment.
- Experience with CAD/CAE, FEA, and GD&T on engineering prints.
- Knowledge of machining and manufacturing capabilities and drafting standards.
Work Schedule
Monday through Thursday, 9-hour shifts, with a half-day Friday.
