Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer

Blacksburg, Virginia Mechanical Full-Time Fee: $300 to $500

About the Role

This role designs precision rotating electromechanical equipment (slip rings) for space and defense applications, working on-site in Blacksburg, VA, from concept through production support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish design concepts and requirements across mechanical, thermal, and electrical disciplines for slip ring assemblies.
  • Interface with suppliers and customers on technical aspects of projects.
  • Carry designs from proposal through detailed design, production drawings, and build support.
  • Support internal research and development efforts to expand existing technology.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aeronautical engineering.
  • 5 years of experience designing and analyzing precision rotating electromechanical equipment.
  • Experience with CAD/CAE, FEA, and GD&T on engineering prints.
  • Knowledge of machining and manufacturing capabilities and drafting standards.

Work Schedule

Monday through Thursday, 9-hour shifts, with a half-day Friday.
