About the Role
This role performs precision fabrication, assembly, and testing work on photonic circuits and optical systems, including fiber splicing, mechanical builds, and equipment calibration in a cleared defense environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform optical fiber splicing, recoating, and photonic circuit fabrication and inspection.
- Carry out mechanical builds, metal soldering, microscopy, and profilometry work.
- Integrate commercial optical equipment per architecture and wiring diagrams.
- Perform equipment calibration and preventative maintenance per documentation.
Qualifications
- 6 years of relevant experience, or 2 years with a bachelor's degree.
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required (polygraph may be expired beyond 5 years).
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings and working with machining equipment (lathes, mills, CNC).
Work Schedule
9/80 schedule: 80 hours worked over 9 days out of every 14, with every other Friday off.
